FALL JAM
Phoenix Skateboards Annual Fall Jam
November 22st, 2009
November 21st, 2009 -- Peoria, Arizona
Phoenix Skateboards along with the Following Sponsors Dekline Footwear, Spy Optics, Monster Energy, Bones Wheels and Bearings, and with the help of these local shops Underground Board Factory, Pulse Board Shop, Utility Board Shop donating prize packs for the winners of each divisions.
This year Phoenix Skateboards did individual runs at 2 runs per skater at a minute each run and total highest overall score would determine the winners. With 103 entries and a overall 600 people in the park it was a success and with Parker saying " I did not anticipate this many entries even though i did set my goals high with a 150, but did not know i would be that close"!
There was a little delay in the registration but things went smoother after the ball got rolling with the help of Parker's wife and mother working registration and a mother of one of Phoenix Skateboards rider Michelle Winslow doing the judges sheets to get ready for the judges which were Matt White from Industrial, Nate Winslow from Phoenix Skateboards, Chris Cosmas independent, and Robert old school skater. The weather was a perfect day for a competition like this which is one of the reasons Phoenix Skateboards holds this event during this time so the skaters are not out in the heat all day waiting for their turn to skate.
Parker said "the reason for our competition is to show people that we need to keep shopping at our local skate shops to help Arizona's economy, its these local core shops that put on the demo's and events and signings of the pro skaters for the local skaters so shopping at a place that is like home and family is the way to help the economy because people like us and the shops put back out to the community to help skaters keep skating."
T.J. Rogers came all the way out from Ontario, Canada to show support and T.J. said " this competition was legit and was a very good competition and i have known Parker for like almost 2 years and i am glad this competition turned out great for him he works hard to help the skaters and is a good person, and i can not wait to come back out here again!"
Dom Gastelum who is a rider for Phoenix Skateboards said "I was stoked on the competition i was amazed on the turn out and glad it was a success for Phoenix Skateboards.
Phoenix Skateboards is a local skate board brand that distributes their boards to a lot of the local shops in AZ. as well as other cities in other states and also flows out boards to people out of Arizona like Scot Powers in Toronto, Canada. PS "Phoenix Skateboards" commitment is to provide a high quality board at an affordable price so skaters can afford something that will last and not have to replace as often so it saves money. PS also has a goal of expanding to share that commitment to others and help other shops provide skaters with the same savings. So please stop on by your local shop and try a PS board guaranteed that you will love the shape and concave, Parker says that their standard shape is their most popular even though they have the options of 5 other shapes and 3 concaves. Thanks for all your support! PS
